The Pure Power Mouthguard (PPM) is a custom mouthpiece that delivers an edge to training and performance, helping athletes achieve better balance, longer endurance, improved strength, more power and expanded range.

How Does it Work?

The PPM is the culmination of 40 years of proven neuromuscular dentistry research. Neuromuscular dentistry emphasizes the link between the bite and the rest of the body.

It has been found that athletes with a poorly aligned jaw and associated residual muscular tension are limited in their potential. The PPM mouthguard helps to align and relax muscles in the face to improve muscle recruitment and vertebrae alignment, removing those limitations as it aligns the jaw in an ideal position in relation to the rest of the body.

This allows athletes to run faster jump higher, hit harder and lift more without the use and dangers associated with anabolic steroids.

To fit an athlete with the PPM, Dr. Winans will first determine his or her ideal bite position (where the muscles and joints are most relaxed) and build that position into the appliance. The bite is found using TENS (Transcutaneous Electro-Neural Stimulation) to relax the muscles and then jaw tracking with EMGs (measures muscle activity).

When a person is in this position, he or she is better able to use strength, increase range of motion and improve balance. Background muscle tension is relaxed allowing the athlete to use his or her body more efficiently.
