Porcelain Veneers

I knew the Winans personally because my daughter was their babysitter for many years. Knowing Larry and knowing how much my daughter respected him, I thought I would give him a call.  I have had all my metal fillings removed and white ones put in. I also had veneers placed on 10 of my teeth to help align my bite. I feel better, I have less headaches and I think it is because my bite is properly aligned. 

The staff was so kind; they were very attentive and fun. I had a lot of dental work done and through it all my comfort was of the utmost importance. First of all, the dentistry here is pain- free. The technology makes a big difference. Their digital x-rays make it easy to see and understand what is going on in your mouth. The hygienist always shows me everything and explains what she's doing and I love that. They offer relaxation dentistry, headphones, and a massage pad. They do everything they can to make you comfortable!  

Dr. Winans even gives you his cell phone number so that if you need him when he doesn’t have office hours, you can call him and he will see you!  I have never experienced that before. 

I think I have so much more confidence now. This just has given me a real boost. I love smiling all the time!

"I had some problems with my teeth. I clenched and ground them down so they looked really worn. When I smiled, I didn’t open my mouth. I wanted to have my teeth fixed and a nicer smile, but had been told by another dentist that I’d never be able to get porcelain veneers. I’d gone to other dentists who told me they could put Lumineers on my teeth, but that’s not what I wanted.

So I decided to do some research to hopefully find a dentist nearby who could do veneers. I searched the Internet and with my medical background as a Nurse, I knew what to look for. I knew I could go to Philadelphia or another city to get really good dental work, but I wanted to find a dentist close to my home in Mt. Carmel.

I found Dr. Winans’ website. From the look of his office and how nice it appeared, I thought that he seemed like the real deal, so I called and made an appointment.

On my first visit, the staff was great.  They took their time, got me situated and explained things to me. I was the only one there. I didn’t feel like I was at a doctor’s office; I felt like I was in someone’s home. The attention is so individualized. There weren’t 4 or 5 other people waiting for the doctor’s attention. Just me. Then Dr. Winans came in. I was really impressed. He didn’t come in and say, “OK we’ll put veneers on your teeth. Here you go.”

Dr. Winans has a Neuromuscular Dentistry background that I was really impressed with. He believes that the jaw has to be aligned appropriately before any dental restorations are placed on the teeth. Otherwise I would have continued to clench and grind my teeth and ruined the dental work, wasting my money. He hooked me up to advanced equipment to measure my bite and I knew he was going to help me. I trusted him and moved forward with treatment.

I wanted to get my teeth fixed cosmetically and correct the underlying problem with my jaw. It was more than getting veneers put on. Dr. Winans fixed the problems with my jaw because my bite was misaligned. Dr. Winans aligned my jaw and placed veneers on my top 10 teeth. It took a few visits. I had to travel almost an hour, but it was definitely worth it to see a dentist I trusted.

Now I have an open smile. I’m more comfortable when I’m having conversations at work. I let the smile out. 

If someone asked me about choosing a dentist, I’d recommend Dr. Winans right off the bat. He’s the ONLY one I know that I’d recommend in this area of the state. I drive an hour to come here, and I’ll continue to do so for his expertise."

"I had an accident when I was 10 years old and my front tooth came out. I was taken to the hospital where they took one of my molars and implanted it in the front. Dr. Winans placed porcelain veneers on my teeth. At the final appointment, when the permanent veneers were placed, it was so exciting. I have gotten so many compliments!

I’ve had my veneers for 5 years now and come to Dr. Winans for my regular dental care as well. I remember going to the dentist years ago when it took 10 minutes to clean your teeth. The first time I came here, they scheduled me for an hour. I was like, “How is that possible?” But they do such in-depth work and educate you about preventive measures you can do at home. It’s not just about cleaning your teeth. They make sure you have these teeth for life. I really like that.

It makes me feel so good to have a nice smile, and not have to worry about trying to cover my teeth. I tell everybody to come here. A couple of my friends come here; in fact, my whole family comes here too! If I had to sum up Dr. Winans, his team and my experience here, I would say, Amazing.”
