July '09 Kids Triathlon

Get ready to swim, bike, run and smile!

The summer’s here and it’s time for kids to get ready to swim, bike, run and smile in the Third Annual Winans’ Triathlon for Kids!

This special event is scheduled for August 14, 2009, and is shaping up to be the biggest triathlon yet. We already have over 100 kids registered and the deadline isn’t even until August 9! Only 150 kids can participate, so if your child wants to join the fun, register today!

With so many kids and their families attending, we need as many volunteers as we can get to help make the event successful. If you would like to volunteer, visit www.GoLARA.org or www.LewisburgTriathlon.com. The kids and I really appreciate your help and support.

Like I said, registration is open until August 9. Any boys or girls, ages 7 to 14, who are interested in trying a triathlon are encouraged to register! This triathlon is geared towards kids (the distances for swimming, biking and running are specially geared toward specific age groups) and the entire race is conducted in a relaxed, positive and supportive atmosphere. Medals will be given to all participants who finish the race. I established this event three years ago. As a triathlete myself, I wanted to share my passion for this unique sporting event with area children while promoting health and fitness. It’s the perfect opportunity for kids to discover the fun and challenge of a triathlon.
